Velo3D has appointed Vic Fryzel as its Executive Vice President of Technology, and Robert Purnell as Senior Director of Operations.
Together, Velo3D says the new recruits will strengthen the technology and operational leadership supporting production at Forge 1, Velo3D's Livermore Production Campus in California.
Fryzel brings more than 20 years of experience building and scaling complex hardware and software systems at Carbon, Meta, Lyft and Google, while Purnell brings experience scaling manufacturing operations across aerospace and semiconductors, with leadership roles at Boeing Co., FormFactor Inc. and SpaceX's Starlink, as well as service in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In their new roles, Fryzel will oversee the technology roadmap across hardware, software, materials, automation, process engineering, data and artificial intelligence, and Purnell will lead the teams and operating systems responsible for safety, quality and delivery performance.
